What is Live Resin Sugar?

As many of you know you know, we now offer Live Resin Sugar in addition to our Live Cured Flower. We value “live” products because they closely resemble the essence of live plant. We want to bring the consumer closer to what we experience at harvest. We take cannabis at its peak and freeze it in time for you to enjoy.

Our Live Resin Sugar is a cannabis concentrate known for its high terpene content and potent effects. It is made using a unique extraction process that involves us freezing the cannabis plant immediately after harvest and then extracting the cannabinoids and terpenes while the plant material is still fresh and preserved. We are highly skilled at taking down harvests and efficiently and carefully freezing them. We apply the same techniques that we use for freezing our Live Cured Flower. Our friends at Cannavision are the ones who carefully extract the concentrate for us after we freeze it at harvest.

The traditional process for making cannabis concentrates typically involves hang drying and curing the cannabis plant before extraction. However, this drying process will lead to a loss of some volatile compounds, including terpenes, which are responsible for the plant’s distinct aroma, flavor, and effects (see Terpenes in Cannabis and The Entourage Effect). Our Live Resin Sugar seeks to preserve these terpenes and other volatile compounds, resulting in a concentrate with a more robust and flavorful terpene profile compared to other concentrates like shatter or crumble (see What are Concentrates?).

The process of making Live Resin Sugar involves using solvents to extract the cannabinoids and terpenes from the fresh-frozen plant material. The solvent is then purged through a specialized process of evaporation involving gentle heat and vacuum pressure. This leaves behind a concentrated oil that is high in Terpenes, THC, and other cannabinoids. This meticulous approach translates into a product that not only boasts an exceptional flavor profile but also offers a more comprehensive entourage effect, enhancing the overall experience.

Since our Live Resin Sugar has a high terpene content, it has a saucy or syrupy consistency, with the terpenes and cannabinoids visibly separated within the concentrate. The terpenes pool at the bottom of the container, giving it a “sauce” appearance, while the cannabinoids form crystals or diamonds / sugar on top. The combination of terpenes and cannabinoids in this form results in a potent and flavorful concentrate that we like to call Live Resin Sugar.

Because of its high terpene content, we favor Live Resin Sugar over other cured products because of its intense flavors and aromas. We use it for dabbing, vaporizing in cartridges, and ingesting it in tinctures (see Methods of Consuming Cannabis). A small amount of this concentrate will produce potent full-spectrum effects when consumed.

The world of cannabis concentrates has been revolutionized by the advent of live resin. This innovative extraction technique has redefined the way we can experience the aromatic and flavorful essence of the live cannabis plant. Through careful preservation of the plant’s terpenes and cannabinoids, live resin captures a dynamic spectrum of compounds that not only provide an unparalleled sensory experience but also potential therapeutic benefits.

Live Resin Sugar reflects a growing demand for a more refined and authentic cannabis experience among consumers. Its ability to encapsulate the true essence of the plant opens up new avenues for us to explore diverse cultivars and their nuanced effects. Our entrance into the concentrate market with Live Resin Sugar stands as a testament to the continuous innovation within the cannabis industry that companies like Cannavision are pushing the boundaries of.

Our Live Resin Sugar’s emergence marks a significant milestone in the evolution of Curated Cannabis. Our commitment to preserving the plant’s aromatic and therapeutic qualities is aimed to captivate enthusiasts and industry experts alike.
