Live Cured Flower: Why is it so smooth?

Our number one feedback on our Live Cured Flower is that the smoke is smoother than traditionally cured flower. This is no surprise to us because we actively work to preserve the flower to perfection. We have way more control over how the flower is dried and cured than traditionally cured flower which gives us a leg up. Let’s take a look at several factors that can affect the smoothness of smoke and why Live Cured Flower is better:

  • Temperature: The temperature of the smoke can affect how it feels when inhaled. Cooler smoke is generally less irritating than hot smoke, as it causes less thermal irritation to the respiratory tract. Being that Live Cured Flower is less dense, it will not burn as intensely as traditionally cured flower (check out our post on Live Cured Flower: Weight, Volume, Density). Main reason being that there is less plant material combusting when you smoke Live Cured Flower.

  • Moisture Content: Smoke with a higher moisture content can feel smoother when inhaled. Moisture can help to soothe the respiratory tract and reduce irritation. On the other hand, having too much moisture in the flower can create hot vapor which will feel irritating. Dry smoke, such as smoke from old dried out flower, may lack moisture. The absence of moisture can exacerbate the irritation to the respiratory tract, making the smoke feel harsher. You see this a lot with traditionally cured flower that has been over-exposed to oxygen, heat, or UV. Our Live Cured Flower has the perfect amount of moisture left in it so that you have a great experience every time. We also don’t expose the flower to any heat, oxygen, or UV while the flower is curing. We have way more control over how the plant is cured than traditionally cured flower which makes it less of a lottery when trying to select a smooth smoking product.

  • Dilution: Smoke that is less concentrated or diluted with air can be smoother to inhale. Since our flower is less dense, there will be more air pockets in a joint or a bowl. This produces a lighter smoking experience. Just the shear fact that you’d also be using less plant material helps too. High concentrations of smoke can overwhelm the respiratory system and lead to discomfort when consuming traditionally cured flower. There’s typically less airflow to cool the smoke, making it hotter. There is also more plant material combusting which will produce thicker smoke.
  • Personal Tolerance: Your tolerance levels to smoke can vary stoner to stoner. Some people may have a less sensitivity to irritants in smoke because of smoking traditionally cured flower for so long. It would make sense why our flower would seem so much smoother to someone who’s used to smoking harsh flower. Others that may be less experienced to smoking also perceive it as smoother. Our Live Cured Flower is the perfect introduction for a newbie given the composition of the smoke is inherently smoother.

The only way you’re going to know if Live Cured Flower is smoother is by trying it yourself. Please check out the Retailers section of our site to find some near you!

Stay safe and stay stoned!
